hey friends,
quick post today. a while back I saw this very bizarre 1921 film from Japan entitled JIRAIYA THE BRAVE. it’s interesting how different cultures worked to adapt their legends & myths to film. I’m not sure if this seems so strange because it’s an example of early cinema, or if it’s because the story the film is telling is so removed from a “Western” mindset.
whatever the case is, the fact that this is available to watch on the internet is pretty incredible!
the big fight where the characters start shape shifting from Ninjas to Frogs (well, “toads”) happens at about 11:50 in.
